Target Doll

So the process of creating practice targets for our avatar continues. I am currently creating a target doll that will be used as a part of an in game tutorial in Tale.

The doll is supposed to resemble the enemies in the game. The enemies are little knights that roams around the world of tale. They are very short but a bit buff. The target doll is adapted to their length and width.

The textures i am using are fiber textures, wood texture ( pine tree) and painted color. As you can see on the front of the dummy there is a painted texture that is suppose to be an archery target. The way I painted that particular texture was to use a brush called “dirt”. This brush proved to resemble sloppy brush strokes very well.

As for the shape of the dummy I tried to avoid sharp edges and to make it looked stuffed. When one UV maps these types if assets it is very easy to place the seams according to how it would look in real life since its pieces of fabric put together. I masked, or amplified if you will, these seams by painting shadow and string that is sewn around the edge. doll 2.JPG
