New Course: Introduction to Game Development
|
Last week we started a new course called Introduction to Game Development. In this course we have been selected to work in the same groups as we did in the Game Analysis and Game Design course. In the end of that course each group made a game concept and now each group has picked a game concept from one of the other groups. My group picked a game concept called The Last Signal and it is a game about being the last survivor on a research spacecraft that is being invaded with aliens. The goal of the game is to reach the engine room and restore the power to com central at the other end of the ship. Right now my group has not got very far with the game but we should have a prototype ready at the end of the week. To make the levels for the game my group has decided to use a program called Tiled Map Editor. It is a free program that makes it possible to make 2D levels and export them as .tmx files. As of now I have made the bigger part of the design of the level and whats left is most of the graphics that should be included in the level.
