Cleaning the character

This week I have worked with making the character that i drew last week look clean. That means that you clean up the lines in the character. Right now they look quite sketchy and the lines are thick and not very precise. Here is the character that I drew last week.

Three stages

As you can see in the character to the right he looks quite clean at a first look but if you look closer you can see that the lines are pretty thick and overlaps in some places.

In the picture here below I have cleaned up the lines and made the whole character look more finished.

Character 1 v5

This does not look to different from the character above but if you look closely the lines are thinner and sharper. What you cant see here is that it takes quite some time to get these lines look correct. At least when you are new to this kind of drawing it takes time to make the lines follow the character as they should. Especially longer lines that follows a curve is hard to get right.

In this clean-up I also changed the left shoulder cover and changed the position of the mouth and eye of the character to (hopefully) look more anatomically correct.
