Final touches

Alright, last week, last sprint, last post. I did not really know what to write about due to the fact that I have not made anything new this week. I have worked on everything and just fixed small errors, updated small things and maybe moved something a pixel or two. But I will try to work this out.
The thing that I most likely worst most hours on, but even here we are talking small numbers is the HUD. We decided to remake some parts of the HUD last week. So we had some meetings and tried some different solutions, one was to move the multiplier down on the screen, one to add a highscore to the left corner and so on. The thing we really had to had was two powerup meters, why? Because we change the powerup system. You no longer pickup power ups. You get them by doing damage to the enemies, so we made two bars on each side of the shield bar in the bottom of the screen.
These bars had two different symbols on them, one had the boomerang, and that bar filled up a lot quicker than the other bar simply because that powerup was weaker. The other more powerful powerup was represented by a baseball.
Above these bars I spent a hour on making some simple simple animations that popped up when one of the bars was filled. These animations were a E and a Q (one for each powerup) with a simple glowing effect in the background, so that they did not look so stiff and boring.
Other than the powerup upgrade we change the multiplier to a different paper just below the score in the top corner, earlier it had been on the same paper but that got way too messy and hard to see. I also increased the size of the score paper a little bit. Down in the corners of the screen the character portraits has finally been added, I did not make them but they were implemented onto the HUD and we noticed that we had to increase the size of the paper parts that was behind them. But that was also a quick fix.
Besides the HUD I worked some on the othewr GUI elements as well, finished of the pause menu, made some changes on the text in the main menu, updated the options and leaderboard menu etc. So This week has really been a small fix week. Looking forward to tomorrow and the playtesting.
