Panick at Restaurant! – Jam game

This game was made in collaboration with Adam Olsson, Alexander Sinn, Cai Songqiao, Karl Poll, Lina Femling and Patrik Lindkvist, as part of “My first game jam”, an event organized by the student union of Uppsala University, Campus Gotland.

The theme of the jam was “You had one job”, and we had about eight hours to create a game in GameMaker : Studio. The quality of the code was therefore mediocre and, since we weren’t provided with professional versions of GameMaker : Studio, we could only add a certain amount of assets. This, as well as the time limit, also meant that some of the game mechanics we wanted to implement were simply discarded.

The point of the game is to catch as many falling plates as possible as a two-man team. Given the strangeness of the controls (the enter key to go left, the L key to go right), it is quite confusing to do so, especially since there is only supposed to be one person per key.
