Modeling from references

Hello!

So the very basic models I showed last time were just basic shapes that were reminiscent of mushrooms, but were not made after any real references. Those were more meant for platforming, while these ones were gonna be more of the decorative type, or have functions of some kind. This is also a lot less technical this time, and is more to show a bit more of what the world will consist of.

It is surprising how many strange mushrooms there are, but ithelps alot with making the game world look more varied. They may not look like mushrooms, but they are. In a way it is an excuse to make things that look like they could be flowers or other types of vegetation, diverting from the mushrooms.

However, this specific game world is nothing but mushrooms, so I can not divert too much. These are just a few of the exotic ones made so far.

The low poly style limits everything that can be done however, and so certain mushrooms that I would have liked to have made need to be left out, due to their complex shapes and patterns. Some of them will be made with flat textures however, specifically the net shrooms:

Veiled lady (Phallus indusiatus)

 

I will make more updates before the end of the week, due to the deadlines hastily coming up around the corner.
