Week 6
|
Week 6 This week we are entering the end face of our alfa production. Moving from pre-production to actually implementing animations and art in the code. It is critical that basic game play is working in order to have time to polish everything before the Alfa. Features as menu, background and pinata animations must be in place for the coders to test. Also I have been working on the main menu. Recreating a view from the actual game background to make the player get a feel a connection to the gameplay environment. I am very happy with the result so far and all the basic forms are implemented. A few choices about light sources and detail remains to be made. I also have a tendency to make everything too blue while painting night scenes. That some thing I hope to change with the addition of details and possible adding some more color discreetly. I will look at other night scenes paintings and experiment to achieve this effect. I want to solve this issue once and for all. When it comes to light sources I am very happy with the pink lamp. However, I am more unsure of the firefly nest. I agree that there should be a light source coming from that direction in order to light up the menu bottoms. That said, I am not sure about the color and intensity. I am also not happy with the light from the city in the distance. I will have to make that less cartoony. last step is adding animation to this background to make it more lively. The fireflies will move around and change light intensity. The lights from the village also needs to blink to make the illusion of atmosphere. I will also add some movement to the trees blowing in the wind. Adobe Flash will be used to make these effects. |
