“Very good that your team noticed that players have a hard time to comprehend all the abilities given to them – and not just assuming that they are “bad players” or “noobs”.
Some kind of tutorial makes sense to have, however could it have been at the start of level one? Or was it necessary to have it as its own level? While both ways have their pros and cons I would be interested in if your team had the discussion and why you picked having it as separate tutorial level.

I enjoy the way you describe the process behind creating the level, with motivations for why. What I am missing is if your group discussed some of the risks behind your decisions. For example the forced pause screens, how they can bring a player out of the game (flow of the game) and ruin the experience. Even though it is in a tutorial level were they player is still not fully submerged in the game experience its”
