“Having one week sprints were all team members also have minors to attend has been a struggle for all groups, So its very nice to read that your group is happy with the way you managed to set it up.
You mentioned in the post that you have had to harshly pressure the team to attend the daily stand-up meetings, Did you ever have a informational meeting were you discussed the importance of these meetings when some of the members did not understand why they were supposed to go to something other groups skipped? If not, it would be something I greatly recommend doing in your future groups sense the daily stand-up is of great importance, especially for new groups who might not communicate well without it.
It is also good to note that the rules for a daily stand-ups can be created by the group.
Maybe they live far away and will lose several hours of there day going to a 10min meeting, Could you have the meeting over discord? Or in a written format on slack?
Even though physical meetings are always the best, getting the information in some way out to the whole group is better then no information.
Very nice and interesting post that explained how scrum was beneficial for your group.”
