BGP – Day 5
A discussion about designDuring this Friday I’ve been trying to evolve the original fire but haven’t finished anything yet. Also we had a really interesting discussion within the group about the design of the game and from what perspective we wanted to design the game from. Where I explained that I viewed it from the perspective of trying to find out what the big picture is and work from there. I think this is a result of the concept we have, it is just that, a big picture. We have a somewhat written story and from the start there wasn’t a specific mechanic established. Since I am a new member of the group I didn’t want to change to much of what was already there. Therefor I decided it was important to find out how to work with the parts that was already there and what limitations that already existed within the concept. Otherwise I do think working with one interesting mechanic and testing that and only that, is a good way to start. But from our discussion emerged a more well established idea for everyone to follow as a team member drew a map over the game and that helped all of us to see what we should prioritize and test from the start.
