Sound

This week i have been working on making sound effects for our game Potato Pirates of the Prohibition. There is a lot of different sounds that have to be created and fortunately, it has gone relativly well. We’ve had some test sounds in the game since the alpha but we decided that we needed sounds that better suited our style. However, there was many sounds that were missing  too so we thought that it was time to implement and make some new sounds and that is why I started creating sound effects this week.

After I managed to find a good source with relatively fitting sound that we could use I decided that they didn’t really work together, so I started to tweak them and play them together so that they would sound good when played at the same time. It took a while but I’m really happy with the results.

To be able to edit and work with the sound effects I have mostly worked with Audacity, but during a short period I also used  a software called BFXR. But since that gave me more headache than useful sounds I had more use of Audacity.sound

So during the week, I’ve had to work closely with the team and the documentation to make sure so that everything fits with the audial style and goals and from the response I’ve gotten I seem to have  been successful with my work.
