Narrative challenge

During the past week, I’ve been working on a narrative challenge that our teacher gave us. The challenge was basically to randomly generate a story or plot and then use it as a basis for a game. I used an online generator that I love, called Writing Exercises.
The random plot points I got were these:

a foolish 21-year-old woman
a cruel 40-year-old woman
the story begins on a farm
someone recieves an inheritance
it’s a story about freedom
your character takes control of the situation

The […]

Game: Spectral Traces

A game design by Emma Mörk.
“Want to hear the other side’s part of the story? In Spectral Traces you can find the truth from the spirits that has yet to pass to the other side.
Switch between the two main characters to gather information from the dead and the living to solve the mysterious crimes in a darkening city. Solve puzzles to access hidden areas, and witness the consequences whether you caught the right guy or not.”

That’s the […]

Texture

So we have been working on the texturing of our crates. We were supposed to choose one of our crates and then do a diffuse, Specular and normal map. I chose to texture my post-apocalyptic crate. I really want to go for a broken down sense but still working. Like something that was built with scraps of other things. This was my concept on the actual modeling so I wanted the same feeling in the texture.
The first thing I thought […]

Optimizing the Crates

So for this blog post i will be talking about how i and a class mate Nils Wennergren optimized my crates that i had modeled in class. We were put in groups but because we were only three people in my group then I fixed two of my own crates and Nils fixed one. I optimized my sci-fi crate and my post-apocalyptic crate while Nils optimized my medieval crate.
I will start with the medieval crate that Nils Wennergren did.

So there […]
