The Viking longship mesh
|
3 days ago i turned in my Viking longship and have forgoten to blog about it so here it comes. I’m “done” with the mesh, will probably have to change some things when i get my feedback but for the first turnin it’s done. What i dont like about it is the ropes, the day after i turned it in i felt that maybe i should have done the endings of the ropes better but i couldnt think of it at the time i did it. Also i think the ropes might be to thick, but that can also just be me. The ropes are a little besnt because of the wind but look a little stale, so im thinking about maybe adding more joints to it so the bent looks smoother. Then i have also made the dragons head, it was a challange, but it was fun and i think i was able to do it. I also added a weapon storage because i thought that they must have their weapons somewhere, they might have their main weapons on them, but vikings often carry many weapons and having them all on them on a boat that moves is dangerous. So i added a place for them to store them that was also easy to grab the weapons from. Some might also store them in their chest or next to them where they row. Here’s some more pictures of the mesh. i know there is more i can clean and make a lower resolution on that isnt an important detail that is shown mmuch if you just see it from the outside. But as it is supposed to fit into skyrim it feels like you should be able to go onto the boat and look around so i dont want to make it too low. infact i would almost like to add a little because of that and i have polygons to spare. The target was 15 000 but i only hit 14 220. So maybe i could add back a little resolution to some things or do it with the ropes instead as they are important to. Or maybe make the oars or shields with more polygons. |
