Blog Post #3

Hello again,
For this week I’m going to write about the presentation I held Thursday last week for the Alpha version of our game Echo.
For this presentation we were supposed to talk about how we interpreted the game concepts we chose earlier on in the course and discuss the current status of our game. We were supposed to come up with some good and bad choices we made for our game during the project and analyse what we could have done to prevent the […]

Hello again!
For this week I’m going to write about the playtesting that took place during Monday earlier this week. All the groups were gathered in one big room to showcase their games and to try out other groups’ games.
This was a great experience. Not only because we got to try all the games out, but also because of all valuable feedback we received for our game. Before we attended the playtesting I prepared a survey containing a bunch of question […]

What & Why:
I am going to cover the general feel and the aesthetics of the current version of our game. After reading the concept document for Echo we were very interested in how the mechanics worked together with the aesthetics. We thought it would be very interesting to combine the dark feel of the game and  the use of sound or light as guidance for the player.
We wanted to keep the narrative of a moth that lost its children in an […]

Last Week – Improving the Level Visuals

Why
This last week has been relatively composed for the graphics artists. The amount of assets we have produced surpasses the implementation that the coding team has been able to do up to this point. We agreed that the best course of action for the artists is to refine the already implemented assets to make a greater visual appeal. Amongst these assets were the level sheet.
What
I have been working on finishing the level graphics that was nearly completed by the last […]

5SD046 Knytt Assignment

As part of our course in Advanced Game design, this blog will detail my work with creating a Knytt level, the parts I worked on specifically and the ones I collaborated on.
Our first day had our group of 3 brainstorming ideas of what the theme of the level would be, as well as the story being told. Our assignment prohibited us from using text to communicate with the player, and so our theme would need to be simple given the […]

About Me

My name is Adrian Hedqvist, and this is a page that’s about me.
I’m a swedish guy born year 1996 and I enjoy games, programming and music.
The first game I remember playing was Lemmings.
My current favorite tabletop game is Superfight.
I began studying game design and programming at Campus Gotland in August, 2015 and ended my studies in June, 2017.
I’m really bad at coming up with stuff to write about myself.

That Final Week of our Project

And it’s officially okay to panic!! It’s been a busy week seven for team Molamola… so busy in fact, much to all of our dedicated followers great disappointment, our weekly blogpost was woefully neglected. We’ll do our best to make up for your loss, honored fans and followers, by presenting an even better zombie crawling experience by the end of this week. Along with all the other groups in our class, we had our game beta-tested and evaluated last […]

Uppdatering Extrablogg.

In Production: Week Six

It’s been another busy week for the Zombie Crawler team (the Overwatch open beta this weekend hasn’t actually helped either ;)) though we’ve managed to get a lot of things done and are basically on schedule. The two wooden frames for the treadmill controller are pretty much both complete, however, our technician still has a lot of work ahead of her with getting the actual treadmillband attached and adjusting it. We are hoping to have it all finished and ready […]
