Our game ”The Summoning” are an asymetric game where two players are battling eachother. One of the players plays as the Demon Lord whom is trying to kill the Human with an army of minions. The Human player has to stay alive while keep going forward to the Demon Lords’ castle/lair (work is still in progress on this area) and summon the Demon Lord. BGP – Day 18
A day of unclean… animation A day of unclean… animation
So today I got all the animations into the animation program and dusted them of just enough so that they can be imported to the engine as soon as possible. Also a lot of my time was spent on trying to connect my computer to our server/unreal project. Which is where our whole project will be accessed and worked through. Above you can see the character come alive. That was all, take care!

The last few days I’ve been working on texturing a well and learning more about unity what you need to do with materials to make your handpainted textures show in unity in the same way they look like in substance painter. In unity we’ve had this problem that they look kinda grayish and not so good, it took some time to find the thing that made this problem, which was the ”specular highlights” option that was ticked in. During this day we went to the office to set up our server, which is a computer we all will connect our own computers to, this server will help us work on the same project. Also I Imported all the animations to motionbuilder but some problems appeared and haven’t been solved yet. Most of the day was went into looking into those problems and helping the programmers with some of the particle effects and other questions. We […]

Andra veckan av utvecklingen, The Summoning
Början på andra veckan av spelet börja jag med att fixa problemet med att fixa så att man inte fick placera ut byggnader på andra byggnader igenom att använda kollision-check mellan “förhandsgransknings” byggnaden och utplacerad byggnader.
Men efter som att marken är också ett objekt måste “förhandsgransknings” byggnaderna vara i luften och till en början märkes det inte när jag testa själv att det blev problematisk när man byggde längre ifrån kameran då den lutar att den inte är direkt rakt […]

Subtle glow
On my last post I mentioned working on the animations, that didn’t happen since the character had to be re-skinned. Therefore I cleaned up the material for the hand a little more, where I added some variation to the emissive, now it increase and decrease over time. Here is what it looks like now.

BGP – Vecka 4
Denna vecka har grafikernas prioritet legat på att modellera. Då jag inte har läst kursen 3D-3 så har jag alltså inte lärt mig att animera. Vi delade därför upp uppgifterna som så att jag modellerade alla statiska objekt så som yxa, svärd, facklor, stenar och så vidare, medans vår andra grafiker har fokuserat på att modellera vår karaktär, boss och animera dessa.
Med hjälp av de städade Mocap animationerna jag tidigare gjort så underlättade detta arbetsbördan för vår andra grafiker då […]

The cleaning involves watching the different tracking markers and see if any of them disappear. This can happen if they are getting occluded by a body part or if they are confused as being another marker. This is fixed by either re-labeling them to their actual […]
