Board game analysis: “Stratego”
Stratego
This is a Two player battlefield strategy, much alike the traditional chess where one has to capture the enemy flag (the king in chess), but the difference is that each player has a set of 40 pieces to place strategically before the game starts. I will go through the gameplay and rules and down to the very core mechanics through this review. There is a lot of different “future” versions available but not much differs in the gameplay but the design. […]

Board game analysis: Stratego
This is a review of the board game Stratego, the classic boardgame of battlefield strategy. I will look into the game’s best and worst sides and I will take a look at the game’s core mechanics and I will try to interpret the game’s target audience. I will also choose one of the game systems that I found to be the game’s most interesting.
Stratego is a bit like chess except you don’t know which pieces are which on the other side. […]

Board Game Analysis: Pandemic
The game me and my group played for this weeks assignment was Pandemic. A game for 2-4 players where you are given a role/character with different abilities that are supposed to help you save humanity. Each player is given one of the following five roles: Medic, Dispatcher, Researcher, Scientist or operations expert. The goal of the game is to avoid the extinction of mankind by not allowing more than 7 outbreaks to happen, by not allowing a disease to take […]

Optimizing 3D crates
During the third week of our 3D computer graphics course the task given to the students was to optimize and look for errors on the 3D crates created the week before. We were assigned to first optimize one crate from two other students during class and later optimize our third crate at home. The two students who worked on one of my crates each were Rebecka Nyström (http://islandgamelog.wordpress.com) and Camilla von Paykull (http://c4mi.blogspot.se).

Blog Report Assignment 2 Part 1
This is the object I chose from the museum. I chose the object because of the vain reason that I liked the way it looked. I enjoy symmetry and at first glance it looked very symmetric as opposed to some of the more damaged objects in the collection. It is also made of metal which is a very interesting material. I would like to be able to texture it in the shiny but not shiny way that old objects […]

Blog Report Week 03
This week on the Wednesday lesson we learned how to optimise our models. We also went through the xView menu.
xView highlights common modelling problems such as overlapping vertices or faces. We used this when we optimised our group members’ models and later one of our own.
This is the before and after of my cartoon chest. The optimisation was made by Mikaela Moberg. Apparently it did not have a lot of problems in it, except for the caps on the cylinders. […]

Modeling Medieval Item
Last week we made a trip to the museum, to sap some photos of an item that we would like to model for our next assignment.
I was a little bit disappointed with the visit. I had expected to find some interesting pieces of medieval armor and weaponry. However, there were barley any weapons, and but a few helmets, way to simple to make a good modeling task. After searching the museum for a few hours, I […]
