Green Warden – week one
So this week we begun working on the space shooter project again. Our team chose the concept for a game called Green Warden. This is their one page design:
The first thing we did was to read the concept document and take notes on everything we liked and the things we’d like to change. Some of the changes we’ve discussed is to change the ye olden English forest to more of a jungle, to represent the types of flowers/units the player […]

Another Luger Update
Our new design and 3D courses have started now, which meant that I couldn’t spend too much time on my mad mod plan. I have also joined forces with Oscar Mohlin and entered a contest organized by Polycount.com and Allegorithmic where artist are tasked with creating a “Throne Room” and a matching throne using PBR and Substance Designer and Painter. Our WIP blog can be found here!
Since I joined this contest I decided to use Allegorithmic’s apps to create […]

Game Development, Meeting 1 and 2.
During week 3 of January, we started a new course titled “Introduction to Game Development.” During the 11 weeks of this course, we were told we would be re-creating another teams game that they designed during the course “Introduction to Game Analysis and Game Design.” We were to remain in our teams, choose another teams game, and set to work developing it using Scrum, an agile workflow to help us along.
We, team 4-est, chose a game previously labeled as Fancy […]

2D-Graphics, Theory and Application I – Final Assignment
Our final assignment for this course was to render this picture of this city:
And to make a solid construction out of this sketch:
With the city it kind of worked pretty much like the values-assignment – laying out the flats based on atmosphere and light, in this case, early morning light:
Then putting in the basic light based on the direction of the surfaces:
Then shadows, shadows falling of buildings and some more detail:
For the second one I went with a quick sketch […]

Programming: Binding Object Rotation to Mouse Movement
A new term started on Monday this week. Now we are going to have two simultaneous courses, “Game Programming II” and “Introduction to Game Development”.
Over a span of roughly two months we will make a game based on one of the concepts produced by student groups in the previous course, “Introduction to Game Design and Analysis”. Our group has already started working on our game, “The Last Signal”, but at the moment we’re mostly doing decision stuff – what we […]

First Week of Teamwork
So as I mentioned in the previos entry, the class began the new Game Project on monday this week (January 19). And all groups have chosen a new game to develop. Me and Team 13 chose the stealth game Mole Munch by Team 8. Some members of the groups were relocated to a new group, and even whole groups have been disintegrated and allocated into new ones. Fortunately, my group was not affected, instead we received a new member by […]

First Week of Concept Art!
Wooha! It has been a long week but I made it through. It won’t be easy to study 200% during the Space Shooter Project, but I won’t give up so easily. Concept seems to contain everything I could have possibly wished for while signing up to that course. I have already met new friendly people, very talented both in traditional and digital illustrations.
This week we learned that the intentions in a drawing is what drives the Concept Artist to continue. […]
