The day i asked for help and made a cube.

Got to school a proper time today as I was hoping to finish the first assignment and also ask for help with some things I was unsure about. Thanks to asking around I was able to fix the issues I was having with my traversal functions. The issue was solved by moving the node struct to the top of the class rather than the end. This was because the function called for a node to be used as an argument […]

Slow day but almost Done* with assignment 1

Worked for a few hours before lunch today, got to school later than i’d hoped but i was up late so i got there by ten rather than by nine. During the time i did work i didn’t get that much done other than some cleaning up my functions in the binary search tree class. I fixed the issue about not relocating children properly when removing a node.
In any case, have written the functionality of everything required for the assignment […]

LoopNodes for days.

I like the word loopNode, it makes me happy.
Today was a good day. I worked for about a solid seven hours at school.
During that time i wrote and almost finished my binary search tree class, it’s setup is mostly the same as the linked list except that each node has three pointers to other nodes, one to the parent of the node, one to the lower child and one to the higher child. The instructions to the assignment states that […]

The looping sound of progress.

Today was a better day, i made a lot of progress.
I worked until lunch with adding the functionality of the class.
During the day i realized that having a number sent in while adding numbers to the list was not a good solution for when i sent in single numbers later. Because if this is reworked the function to instead go through the exciting nodes in order to find the right place in the list. I found that drawing a diagram […]

Working on assignment. Finally.

This week I realized i was actually really behind on my assignments, therefore i will be working on them fully from now on since we’re done with the group reports.
Today i got up early (normally) and went down to the Game room to work before lunch. Working down there let me make some actual progress in my LinkedList assignment.
The issues i had been having was related to setting up the structure for generic programming when using a separate header file. […]

Peer Review: Carcassonne. Original analysys by Max Nordlund.

The second part of the assignment about board games was to exchange games with another group, play their game and write a peer review for a member of the other group’s system analysis.
The person i’m writing a peer review for is Max Nordlund who wrote about Carcassonne, the original analysis can be found here.

I enjoyed reading your analysis, I found it well put together and well-paced where you don’t mix up the content relating to the different […]

Board Game analysis: Drakborgen.

For the course Advanced Game Design we have been tasked with playing and analyzing the system of a board game of our choise. We did this in a group of 7 people and the game we chose was “Drakborgen”.
Core mechanics
The game is played with four people at the time where each player controls an adventurer exploring an abandoned castle and makes it out with as much treasure as possible. The player that manages to carry the most treasure out […]

Levels

So we made it through Alpha and have two weeks to make the game ready for beta where it will be practically done. We made some changes to the project, first of all the player now controls a car instead of a humanoid, this was done as both our graphical group members had to quit the motion capture course and animating a car is considerably simpler than a running person. The second change is that we will be using pre-made […]

Getting it together

We had our weekly Quality Time meeting with Marcus today and we was not satisfied with our work since the lest meeting. Hopefully this will be a good motivator for the entire group.
Today i worked on adjusting the RPM slider. My first version had the slider button to be placed at the same X coordinate as the current rotation speed divided by a thousand. This worked for a simple test to make sure the slider could move from input but […]
