BGP – Day 10

Prototyping & Materials

The plan for today was prototyping with paper, glue and a lot of coloring pencils! The fastest way to try a idea is to build it as fast as you can and then try it, if it fails, try again. It is looked upon as a very forced way of design and is not commonly used in other industries. But when it comes to games, it is easy to test a mechanic (which is similar to rules in a board game or is often seen as a verb or a tool to use, everyone has their own description..)

Here is an interesting read on design, how it differs in games and why:

We managed to build a level and try out a puzzles, finding some interesting parts that we might need to change or think about in the digital version.

We will see how it evolves!

After this I just spent the rest of my times studying materials, similar to what I did in my previous post. I will still wait until I post anything that I’ve worked on, hopefully you are getting a little curious and excited.

That’s all for today, have a great weekend!
