Lots of lines.. Hello Perspective.
|
Hi again! Last week was a difficult one. The lectures were held by Steven, who will be having a couple of our lectures along with Jerker and Pernilla. He introduced us to perspective drawing. The art of having a relation between the objects in the picture. How do you show that the car is on the ground up close, and how do you show that an airplane is flying of towards the horizon? By mastering perspective, you master how the viewer is seeing what you have drawn. In the weeks assignment we were supposed to draw two things;
So by drawing this from a 2-point perspective you should be able to show how the plane is in the background of the car. But what is a 2-point perspective? Imagine a straight line. Just a line that looks like this _______. Now when you draw your car and plane, pretty much every line that you use to draw the vehicle, should go to either of the corners of the line. I will show you soon when I post my assignment. There is also 3-point perspective and 4-point perspective, but they are not used as much, and 4-point perspective even less.
As you can see I’ve used a 2-point perspective. The start up for this drawing was to make a straight horizontal line, in the middle of the drawing. The lines I used to draw my car and airplane all emerges in the same two points of the picture, far to the left and far to the right. By using this method you get the right angle on the different parts of the objects, and you always know where the horizon lies. Thank you for reading! Adam |
