BETA PRESENTATION PREPARATIONS

Dear Blog. This week has been more than just intense, the final week before the BETA deadline for our game development project. My group and I have constantly been working at our headquarters location to try to finish every aspect and feature of our game so far. I have myself been very busy with creating the BETA presentation that is coming up on march 6. Going back in time to my last presentation at the Alpha, I must say that I feel considerably more confident than before on previous presentations. I had a relatively good feeling about where I would start and finish it.

It all began with the PowerPoint. The PowerPoint is the most crucial element for me when creating a presentation in general. Mainly because I wanted to use the same method I used on the Alpha presentation. The method revolves around having my key words on the presentations slides instead of using actual support cards in my hands. That way when I am presenting, my audience can easily follow what I am saying by simply looking at the PowerPoint. The goal here is to make it easier for people in the audience to listen to my presentation by using more senses, listening and reading. To execute this method, I make sure to use easy to follow bullet points on my slides with maximum three larger categories. The categories may contain smaller bullet points that only clarify its category. So, I do not use any support cards at all during my presentation and instead have everything I need to remember on each slide on the PowerPoint. This requires a relatively good understanding of the topic however because you may go off topic and touch on improvised material as the presentation goes.

This is something I found to be very effective for me during my last presentation, which is why I want to continue developing this idea and testing it one more time during the BETA presentation. The requirements for the presentation itself are rather easy as well which provides a great learning opportunity to try new things. Down below is pictures of each slide of the presentation so far.
