What type of enemies encounters are we going to have in our game?
In our new concept in our game we are going to have seven different enemies in the game represented by the seven deadly sins. That’s a lot of enemies and in hindsight, and all of the enemies must have some type of value to them, they can’t be just random.
So as the designer i decided that the enemies are going to be divided into three different categories.
main, both and support.
Before explaining them you should know that the game is going to be divided up into three parts, the first part is going to be the introduction of the support and both enemies, the second part is going to use more of the both enemies as main and support and introduce the main enemies. Third part is going to be very much like the second part, but now the main enemies are going
Main enemies are going to be the meat of the encounter, they are most likely most likely they are going to be in the center of the screen shooting directly against the player. They are going to the big bad guy of the encounter. Their pattern is going to be the one with that have the biggest spread that’s threaten the player directly. They are also going to be the enemy with the most health in the encounter.
Support Enemies are going to be the side of the encounter. They are there to help the main enemies to protect them from the satan. There are there to protect the main enemies weak spot, and therefore the player have to either take them out to defeat the main enemy. In relation to the main enemies, they are going to have the lowest health.
Enemies that are Both are enemies that are going to be used as both of Support and as Main. You can say that they are the mid enemies.
Let’s use two different enemies to create a basic encounter in the first part of the game.
Let’s start with the enemies: Support We are going to use are Greed, whose pattern looks like this: (the arrows pointing back and forth means that the bullets return to Greed)
And health is 2 The both enemy is going to be Lust, whose pattern looks like this:
and going to have health of 4
And if we combine these enemies together we get ourself a challenge. It might be hard to see, but Lusts safe zone in the front middle are now saved dangerous for the player because of Greeds bullet patterns. So now the player have to either destroy Greeds to get to Lusts save spot or he have to navigate through the other save spots of Lust. |
