Yumbo Snak Cake
|
This week we were finally given the other teams’ SiSSYFiGHT mods so that we could play and analyze them. The version we got was called Yumbo Snak Cake. It worked more or less like the original SiSSYFiGHT, with some modifications. Their memo said that they had to include three types of candy called Yumbo Snak Cakes, Neon Sports Drinks and Pleather Fruit Rollems. They did this by letting the player buy candy using their points (self esteem points in the original game). From the beginning, each player has ten points, and when you attack someone you steal points from them. At the end, the person who has the most points, or candy, wins. It was a pretty fun game, and a nice change from the orignal. It didn’t drag on for too long but it wasn’t too fast either. They had removed the Defense mechanism, which was probably good since I think the game would’ve been too long otherwise. It was interesting to figure out whether or not you should spend your points on candy. I spent all my points on candy as soon as I could, and thought for sure that I would win, but I ended up in third place. We discovered that the bonus system, where you could eat the candy you had (ie removing those points entirely) in order to gain bonuses, was slightly redundant as we didn’t use it at all. I think it might’ve been too much of a risk and not enough reward. I think we might’ve used the bonus system more if we played more times and figured out more strategies. Finally, the written instructions for the game were a bit difficult to figure out at first. But yeah, writing instructions for your game is hard. |
