Work work.. (peon voice)

During the play-testing session last Thursday only one group had time to test our game, the reason for that is because it takes longer time to play it with un-experienced players, as it always does. Usually it takes about 45min when we are play-testing in our group but this time took about 1h 30min and the game-testing session was only two hours. While another group was playing our game I walked around in the classroom and tested four different games, each very different. The feedback we got for our game was that the traps were too powerful and instead of rolling one dice for each trap in a room (maximum of five) we should roll one dice for all the traps in the same room, which was a really good idea. After the play-testing session I didn’t meet my group until Tuesday when it was our course teacher Adam Mayes turn to play our game, we only had 30min with him so ofc we didn’t have time to play the game through. But he liked what he had time to experience and was exited to continue, so hopefully he has time to play with us some more another day. Until then we’re going to polish what we have some more and experiment the shit out of our game adding different things. Until Tuesday I had worked on my own by experimenting with the art. Because I had started mainly with potions and weapons we decided that I would continue working on the loot items for the players and the wizards tower that is located in the middle of the tiles, which is the games finish line. This is how far we’ve come right now.. The things I’m going to focus on this week is making more sketches of the different items and have some finished designs, but also create the tower. To have time with that I decided to skip this years GameX, which is game fair held each year here in Sweden. So now.. back to work! |
