System Testing

Today we were assigned to test a system that our fellow classmates had designed.

I was the one that had the system so I had to get up and stand in front of the class as did the 9 others that had systems to distribute. The thought that went through my head was not “I wonder what system I will get?…”, it was “Oh my goodness…” standing there, facing my fellow designers my heart started to race. They weren’t even watching me but it was the first time that I actually faced the room so to speak.  I want to try and be a producer next chance I get. It means standing in front of the class ( even industry people) and presenting, answering questions without fail… It just made me realize that it’s going to be a rough ride.

When we had received our system and opened it. My mind went blank. COMPLETELY BLANK. There were so many components that I was so confused, it’s not even funny. Some of the things were obviously connected to each other after the initial glance and confusion. So we started to try and make sense of it all and play different games. The system was rule-exclusive which basically means that the components needs rules applied to them. One might think it to be easy to apply rules and then play but it was more difficult than I imagined. Seeing the connections and then make it into a pattern that makes sense is extremely difficult. I think that was the thing that made me think that I have no imagination at all.

We did manage to find and play different games out of those components so I think it all worked out in the end 😀
