Big Game Project: Open Circuit –> Defunct! Week 4

So, last week was rough. My mission was to at least finish my level structurally, which I have, somewhat. When we playtested I noticed that I need to make sure that players can’t run into walls or miss cool paths as easily. I also want to replace the “town” part with something else, I don’t think it fits the style having so many buildings so close to each other, it would make more sense to have a giant stranded old ship there instead (don’t get your hopes up). Since you play in a huge open area, I have to think about every possible route players might take and then make those routes playable. This took a lot more time than I expected, hell, everything takes more time than you expect. So I expect that it will take almost this entire week to finish the level, without even talking about decoration… But looking at how much time we have left, I should be able to finish this level fully, and probably do some work on the tutorial level.
I also fixed every object in the waterpark so that the collisions are right, now they just need to be decorated and textured. This weekend I got sick and I still am, that’s why I’m not posting until now. Hopefully I will be up and running tomorrow. |
