My thoughts so far
|
‘Sup! So this is my first time blogging and I’m gonna reflect on various things throughout my game education, and provide my thoughts here. When I first found out that this kind of education was available it caught my attention right away. Games have always been a part of my life and I’m too attached to them to give up my dreams. But would I move to an island (Gotland) to study, that’s right, game design and programming? I realized quickly that this was my type of education, but I’ve never really programmed/coded anything before. And moving out of my comfort zone to live on an island just for this? I don’t know… Well, of course I wanted it! I had to. Even though I don’t know anything about programming I’m willing to learn it to achieve my dreams. And just as the teachers at university give me another painful but fun truth of working in the gaming industry I want to be a part of it, to work with something I like, something I care about. It’s up to me to achieve this goal and learn something new from this education. I’m certain that there are gonna be moments where I’m gonna question my decision and perhaps thinking of giving up (NO! I won’t give up), but my primary goal is to have fun and learn something useful from this how cliché it may even sound. I know there are gonna be some epic moments that will never leave my memory. I need to work hard. We’ve got all the power-ups we so generously need (really good teachers, brand new Alienware laptops, nice environment, friendly schedules, help and support from other students) that I can’t take this for granted. Welcome to my blog! With kindest regards, Stefan |
