Week 2 of game development
|
Level 3 Level 2 Level 1 Week 2 is done and so is our pistol to our game. We started the week with planning what everyone should do, this is called sprint planning. The task that I got was to design the gun that our heroine is going to have. So I began to check out some steampunk guns to get the inspiration going. I found a few and decided on going with a m1911 as a base. We wanted the long barrel to be visible so I made a hole on the grip. As our avatar is a heroine I gave the gun rounded edges and put the clip in front of the barrel as it serves as an extension to the trigger area. In our game you will be able to level up your character. The visual feedback will be in the customize menu. This gave me the work to extend my gun to two versions. Level 1 This is the base model and color. Here I went for a worn out gun with all the basic things to it. The scratches and rust on it gives the player the feel of a used gun with history. Level 2 I gave the gun a scope and a handlebar. This feels like a natural extension as it gives the wielder a better aim on long distance. Some of the scratches and rust is gone as it is newer. Level 3 The level 3 gun got a second barrel to it and the color is shinier, more golden. Also it has no scratches or something like that giving the player the feel of it as her own gun. I’m very satisfied with design and look to it. I have definitely exceeded myself on this. I never thought that I would be this good when I started school. But thanks to my teachers and the delightful tool wacom pen and tablet (that I got from my lovely girlfriend) I have gained confidence in myself and in my artistic work. |
