WEEK #6 – BIG GAME PROJECT – BETA WEEK!

Hey guys! I am sorry for not writing last week, I have been so busy and I kind of pushed it away and forgot about it. So this weekend I will write two blog posts, one for last weeks work, and one for this week. Lets start with last week! So what have I done the past week? I have mostly been doing all-around work. Basically everything was implemented art wise. Mostly the UI needed rework, and I worked with making some stuff more visual in terms of art and gameplay. We remade the art for the ”toggle path” and I redesigned the ”Prisoner count”. Instead of having a prisoner count, every prisoner has two lives visible right above the character. This decision was taken after we realized that we want the player to focus on what happens ON the screen, rather in the UI. Especially since this game is quite hectic. Here are a couple of screenshots!
What else did I do? I redesigned the dropdown menu for the interactable objects (see the ”overheat” in the last screenshot), we added a 45 degree angle to the minimap, and outlines on each room in the minimap, to make it much easier to read. Also, our monitors on the floor has a different texture. I will now move on to writing what I have done this week, but I will do that in a new post right away. Stay tuned! Adam |
