Hey Tomas!
I really like this idea for the Umibozu boss fight. You described well how your group is going to make this happen. And i like that you will keep Umibozu as a shadow and not as a character you can really “see”, because then it is still left to the players imagination, so Umibozu will still be this mysterious creature even after you encounter it.
I also like that you’ve looked up how people who claims have seen Umibozu describes the encounter with the tentacles and whirlpools. I think that will a really good boss fight if you implement them to the game. And it is like you said, you don’t want the boss fight to be anti-climax and boring, because that will ruin the entire game, so I like the way your group came up with solution to be able to fight him without killing him. To keep him invincible, but still be able to make the player feel like the are actually doing something by shooting the tentacles. So the “why” is very clear in this post.
