Hey Guy, enjoyed reading your post. I have quite a similar perspective being the lead programmer for my group as well, so this was quite a relatable read. I had the same overall hesitance to use scrum at first, since it made my job more annoying and yeah, it was a bit like a know-it-all mom telling me I should eat my vegetables, but after a bit it got better. For me it’s still not perfect but y’know, better than waterfall
You described everything well, enjoyed reading about your slack shenanigans, we do the same kind of stuff all the time, just posting random memes and generally just having a good ole time.
I don’t have the same background as you nor am I the same when it comes to working at home, but I can understand your ways!
Overall, I feel much the same way about scrum. I do think it would be better suited in a professional environment though, since, yeah, it’s a hassle to get up early in the morning to go to daily stand-ups and so on.
