How scrum has affected our development
|
For this week’s blog post we have been instructed to write about Scrum and how it has affected our team’s project development. Overall I feel that working with scrum has managed to improve our team’s development. Sitting down and creating a project backlog has helped us with being a bit more organized when it comes to planning what work we are going to do for the week. Also having a document where you can see all of the work you have planned out being checked off is nice. Working with Scrum has definitely made us more aware of how we organize our sprint week and the work being done during it. Last semester when we were working on our concept document for our shoot’em up game, our workflow was not the greatest, there were some delays and confusion on what needed to be worked on and we did not have the greatest job in communicating with each other. Scrum has helped us improve our workflow and our communication has gotten better. While I would have liked to have had more practice with scrum and agile before going into this semester since this is the framework that we going to be working with but it is not the framework that we were instructed about last semester. Having a second-year project manager around to ask for help in regards to scrum has been very helpful. Since they went through this process last year, they know how things need to be done and how they should look. They have just been an incredible help. Over the course of the semester, I have enjoyed working with scrum, I find it to be a simple and effective framework when it comes to working with this project and would like to work with it in the future. Of course, I would also like to try some different management styles to see whether those would be a better fit for this kind of work. Overall I’m looking forward to seeing how scrum will continue to affect our development.
I thought about adding screenshots of our entire backlog, but I thought that it might be too ambitious. |
