Archery target

So today I have constructed a archery target. This asset will be used in the beginning of the game during the tutorial when Alva (our main character) learns how to use the bow. The bow is a vital part of our game since almost all game progression and mechanics revolves around it. It is a tool for destruction but also for transportation. In order to come across large gaps in the level, Alva is equipped with a rope that she attaches to the arrow. The player can switch between usual arrows and rope arrows by pressing X on the control.
The solution was that i painted the color of the front in Photoshop along with some simple fiber structure. But then I added a pre-made material in a program called substance painter that made it look really nice and added much detail to it.

The biggest challenge with this prop was to give it a descent front texture. Since a medieval archery target mostly is made of hay, the texture contains a lot of fibers. This can be very time consuming to paint, and since it is nine days until we present our game I have to produce the assets at a quick rate.
