Crunch!

We are at the final stage in the process of our game making. So far I have not been able to post that many interesting things, but soon enough all of my work with walls and textures will be shown in our world!

 At first, I thought that making wall textures would be a lot easier, but there are so many details and technical difficulties with all the mapping of them all. Each wall has as least 4 different files which will create the shiny effects that will in the end give the feeling to the environment. One example is the effect used on windows to make them reflective and look realistic. 

The hardest part has been to keep them all cohesive and to really make sure they will work in the final world, all together. Today, I still haven’t seen any of them in their final state, since at this very moment the actual buildings are being imported into UDK and the city. I think, hope and believe that it will look awesome in the end! Our Art Director Yossra El Said and I have been communicating constantly to make sure that the style of the facades is according to our concept, which has been a great help. 

Last week, everything was hectic, and people were showing signs of stress, but this week, it’s gone with the wind, somehow. I don’t know why, but it feels like we are all confident it will work and be awesome in the end. Fingers crossed!
