Kicking off with Goals

Greetings!

Moving forward, work will continue on Tamarrion. And it will do so in conjunction with the course Game design in Practice.

In the spirit of this course and our continued work I have set some goals that I wish to reach, as a way to motivate me further and try to push myself.

1. The Aesthetic

After having worked on the GGC version of our game Tamarrion I saw many things that needed to be improved and that I wished to redo completely. I have during the summer been sketching and thinking about the complete wing containing the three bosses, and just what would look thematically better and would bring the level together. At the start of the course we decided to go for some strong themes for each and every single level, this one being dead and spooky, almost Halloween like, twisted trees and contorted fences and such. This could create some exciting environments and create clear distinction, as well as challenge myself as an artist.

2. One more Boss

The overall ideal for this course is for us to create another boss to add to the level we have. As I am focused on environment and level building, my overarching goal directly related with this group goal will be to create the level in itself. My work will be modular and as such we can add the third boss needed to complete the wing easily when he is designed in the future. I will use a different approach to how I do things compared to previous work, and will go into more detail in a future post.

That’s all for now thank you for reading, I will continue to expand and develop the goals I set for myself and try to keep my post flowing in some sort of consistency.

Have a good one!
