Goals

This has been a long time coming. As with the current design course I am supposed to list a number of goals that I will pursue as I undertake this project.

I have a lot of things that I need to learn and improve upon. Communication being one thing and also how I pitch and present my ideas to both my team and others. While I have done plenty of presentations such as this one in my life I have never had to actually try to push through with a project or product in an attempt to make it financially successful in the market. I believe this course to be a great opportunity for me to gain first hand experience of what it’s like to market and sell something aswell as practically and mentally preparing me for such endeavours in the future. I am acquainted but inexperienced with tools and software that we have practiced with be it in 2D or 3D format and would be eager to take the chance to really test myself and improve such skills whenever possible. I have much to learn, and I’m willing to put the time in to learn it even if I need to push myself. Naturally, you always need to push yourself when doing anything new.

There are of course things I have commitment towards. One of those being writing which shows in my countless reports and documents, mainly because I enjoy the theoretical as much as the practical aspects of the work I do. I always try to understand the reason why certain things are made as they are and thus I tend to reflect longer than I should and working on this course would undoubtedly gain greater insight on managing a product and its marketing regardless if it is a success or not. I always document anything that I do as thoroughly as possible both for my own sake and that of the entire team to help ensure there is no misunderstanding over the goals we are aiming for.

Whatever kind of role or roles I acquire during these coming months I certainly see the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship and to work in a market. I could also have the chance to test my abilities as a designer and graphical artist so I can truly show my work in a solid product.

So to clarify, my intended goals are:

To achieve marketing and selling a product and pull through the process with a dedicated team.

Gain a solid grasp of the tasks and obstacles as well as being able to cooperate and understand how best to optimise the workload.

Utilising my skills in design and reflection to have a solid groundwork for the product, as well as my capabilities with software to push my boundaries.

Not only is it important for me to learn of a proper design pipeline, but also acquiring experience with selling a product while increasing my potential for creative learning in every possible way.

Until next time!
