feverThis week we’ve been focusing on putting together rigs and working on the lowpoly models for our main character and boss. edgeflowcountLowPolyTurnaroundThe lowpoly version of the boss’s body mesh has been finished. No adjustments have been made to the design of this part of the character since last week’s highpoly report. armorSome time was dedicated this week to making sure the size of the boss’s armor won’t make it clip into his body while he moves. The majority of changes made on the model itself has been on the hip guards and the arm guards, to make sure those pieces of armor don’t go through his body when he bends his legs and arms respectively. rigTo help prevent clipping, the boss’s rig has extra bones for both sets of shoulder and hip armor pieces, these bones will allow those armor pieces to be positioned individually. The boss also has two extra bones on the inside of its hands, which will be used to make him hold on to his two-handed sword. karate chopWhile work on animations hasn’t started this week, we’ve been given a number of sword-fighting motion capture shoots from one of our teachers, to test our models. We’ll be having an opportunity to shoot our own motion capture takes on Wednesday next week. While we’d ideally like to make all animations for the game by hand, if we end up being short on time we will be having those motion capture takes as backup. lilla gubben
