Week 3, Learning particle effects

Hello Everyone! This week has been a slow week in terms of production. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXK2Xbd7D9w&list=PLZlv_N0_O1gYDLyB3LVfjYIcbBe8NqR8t Unfortunally i spent the majority of the time taking breaks due to the vaste amount of information being overwhelming. Knowing what typ of effect i was out to create , some sort of power core, i did a google search and found videos focused more on one perticular effect. By just digesting the nessecary information to start with, it was not as exhausting due to overwhelming infromation. This made it easier to break down step by step how the effect was constructed. I later got the tip to download Unreal Engines content example and look at their prefabricated particle effects and hopefully be able to break them down into their essential parts. This provided to be a good source of learning. However the knowledge gained from focusing on simple particle effects contributed to that fact. The goal first this week however was to create the telekinesis effect that will effect items that the player interactwith using the telekinesis ability.
This is the end result: I wanted to create somewhat of a powercore so the orbs gets sucked into the middle which is surrounded by cloads and flashes comming out of it. I wanted to add lightning to it aswell, but it was too complex. Until next time! //Oskar |
