Alpha sprint

Towards the end of last week (week 3) we had our alpha deadline. This meant starting the week by compiling the feedback from the play-test so that we could tweak and change what was needed. Several bugs with the AI was presented and fixed as well.

This week mostly persisted of get what we had working good as well as putting in a joint effort to get an actual scene to play in with terrain, white boxing and level design.

My main area was to continue building an enemy base based on the the tank, Make the tank have it’s ranged attack and to start with our second enemy the caster. While the tank moves closer, the caster has the back line and slings spells on the mages increasing the pressure of using cover which adds another layer of difficulty to the game.

The caster was a challenge to implement since it has a different movement pattern from the tank, taking cover instead of running towards the player which meant new code and me realizing flaws in my enemy base. These setbacks sadly meant that the caster didn’t make it into the alpha build but will soon be done.
