Let’s Evaluate Shall We

Allo,

For this blog post I won’t talk about something I’ve done or implemented during the sprint but rather evaluate a bit about the project in a whole. There are things that have been discussed behind closed curtains which I feel should be put into the open. This will be the purpose of my blog post for this week.

After this week we will only have one more week left to work with our game before it is time to display the final version.

Our game is coming together really well at this point and we have been working on adding the remaining sound needed for every animation and so and so fourth. We have also worked on the final boss fight and everything it requires.

As I have mentioned in earlier blog posts there have been unclear what I as a project manager actually do during these working sprints. Even though I agree with this I have to include that just being part of the process in general has left me with a great general understanding of how a game actually is produced from being a concept document idea to being a complete game.

This is an experience I’m very satisfied of being part of. I need to credit my programmer and graphics for delivering such quality to every artifact and feature in the game.

So despite all this I still think the project in a whole serves as a great basis for education purpose for us project managers.

For the future though, I think some of the tasks of the scrum masters should be given to us project managers instead. This would give us some more responsibility and also give us more of a meaning in the group. Considering previous years when there were no project managers their tasks could be done by people not even studying the minor.

All in all I’m very happy with the experience and I look forward to making the arcade game even though I might end up in a entirely new group of people.

Leiman out.
