See you later boaty boat~

This is the last post for our shoot ‘em up. There have been good and bad times but surely a lot has been learned.

Our group has developed doing this project and some friendships has been made. We have had a lot of challenges about what is right and wrong and who has the last word for what. But I am grateful that we manage to make this game which I am somewhat pleased with, and that we could do it as a team. Learning to work with people who are not your friends, giving critique and receiving is a very good lesson to learn and very achieving.

Most of all seeing our project come to live even if we did not think it would be that exciting, since a lot of other teams picked the concept umibozu, I think we will look back at our first game for Game Design as an inspiration of what we are capable of and what we should change in new groups and games.

Playtesting has taught us to listen to other people’s critique and that even though we are making the game, it is good to have another pair of eyes to look at it. It is probably also the best moment when you can be proud of the game you made. People playtesting and giving you positive feedback about the things you have been working on for so long.

The end result is a game that we have been working on for about 10 weeks, gold was our last play testing and it was a great success, people liked playing it and we felt accomplished that we got to show our game and that we could play the other games too.

I really enjoyed seeing our own concept come to live “a Game of Beelonging”. It made us very grateful to see it being made into a game that the developers enjoyed making too, it was for me even more achinving than making our own game. Seeing that they did so much out of it and liked our ideas, imagining other interessting features, art and just in general get so mandy ideas from our concept.

At the end of the day, this has been our first project at Uppsala University Campus Gotland, and we did all we could to make it work. We are proud of it and it will always be remembered by us.
