Hello! I like that you decided to design a level instead of having everything random. I think good level design is very important in games like this. I would argue that having the player learn mechanics the hard way might not be optimal for this game but then again, I do not know the difficulty curve or how much the player gets punished, so I cannot say much about it. I would recommend you pick up a drawing software such as photoshop or gimp. They have helped me a lot when I work on level design. Drawing on a piece of paper works of course but when you start going through many iterations it can get annoying. I would like to know more about how you divided the level into smaller levels, Is the game split into different levels or is it one continuous level? Is there a transition between them? Other than that, great post! //Jesper Bergman |
