Hi Jesper! Great Post. The post clearly explains what your guys have done drawing all the assets, except for the player, in a 45° angle. The problem with this angled view affects the movement of the boat is explained as well.

However, I do not find any reasoning behind the decision to have all the assets in a 45° angle. I will presume that the reason why, is that the assets in a top down view can be unclear and sometimes confusing to what they are.

The post also provides solutions to this problem, which are easy to understand but I am curious to see how the results would look when these solutions are implemented. A picture would clarify what you are trying to say, that the movement of the boat “feels wrong”.

To improve on the boat feeling that you guys are searching for, I would recommend to try and play around with the acceleration in unity in order to give the boat object a slowly start and then slowly speed up to a constant speed as a real boat would do. When it comes to your problem with the sprite of the boat not always facing the direction that the boat-object is moving towards, this seems like a program error but without seeing the specific scenario of this problem it is hard for me to give you any advises, that is why a picture, a small video or a gif of this would be very helpful here.
Good post and good luck with your project!
