Beta Presentation

Hello! In my last blog post I talked about how my group and I manage our communication and sprints. This time I’ll talk about the beta presentation we had last Monday, including the way I prepared it and how it went. First of all, the presentation was supposed to last not longer than 10 minutes, including showing gameplay and features implemented. As with the Alpha presentation, we had a few questions to answer, such as:
The first thing I did to prepare my presentation was creating a background for it. In the previous presentation, the alpha, I decided to use a lot of our concept art to convey our aesthetics in the best way possible. This time I decided to re-create our in-game background. To do that, I took out a few png.’s from the Unity collab project and put them together with the main background boundaries (the ones scrolling in the parallax effect)
Background re-created for the slides After creating the visual layout of the presentation, I focused on gathering all of my teammates opinions and comments regarding the questions that were to be answered during the presentation. As I mentioned in my alpha presentation blog post, I wanted to present our game based on what the whole group thought, instead of focusing on only my personal opinions. To do this, we had a small meeting at school and went through what everybody thought about, this way we also had a chance to discuss how the game was going. As far as the presentation went, my designer and I managed to describe everything we had in our game, as well as answering all the questions we received from the teacher and the other students. We also received very positive feedback and advice from the teacher, who praised our game’s aesthetics and was generally pleased about it. Overall, the presentation went well, which not only made us more confident about our end-product, but also motivated us even more to finish the project in the best way possible.
