Week 6 – Yet another week
|
Our team most certainly have run into a ton of bad luck when it comes to health. This week, almost the entire team succumbed to sickness once again. The most probable reason is lack of eating properly and lack of sleep, and that can be attributed to the fact that we crunched last week in order to make it for the alpha. This leads to an inevitable revelation that crunching… costs more than it gives, at least I can imagine it does in most cases. We get ahead the week we crunched but then the time we gained from that is slowly fizzling away by lower productivity when we try to pick ourselves back together the following weeks. This spawns a new mantra, the crunch is the bane of all development, and make no mistake, we more than likely will do it again. The biggest blame to this is lack of planning, and also experience. We did plan everything quite well I feel, but, the estimate of time things will take was not accurate enough, and that takes experience to make a proper educated guess of. Due to sickness as one might imagine, the majority of this week have been spent in bed coughing my lungs out, though I have been preparing the trailer and it is nearing its final stages, next week it most definitely will be up here on the blog. The trailer contains a narrating voice, that is a risky move as probably most likely should only be in trailers/games/movies that actually can pull it off and make it interesting without sounding too cheesy. As of right now, the lines delivered is probably the cheesiest one could ever get but it is subject to change. The reason I decided to include it is because I feel our game play is not really that intriguing without understanding or having played the game itself. So, this is a way to introduce to the player to what the player is playing, at the very least by throwing the viewers thoughts to the right ballpark of what to expect.
