BGP – Examination Course of the Second Year

So springtime is here once more and it it yet again time for our examination course for this year. Big Game Project or BGP as it is called is as mentioned in the title the last course for our second year and this is where we put all our knowledge of these two years to the test. The purpose of this course is to create a concept for a bigger game (shocker right) for which we could expand upon and actually try to make into a  real game which we intend to sale.

My teams concept for this course is a game called F.R.A.U.S, its a stealth based game played in an isometric view where you as the player takes the role of an AI computer virus. Who’s purpose is to infiltrate companies conducting illegal experiments on humans and by hacking and accessing technical equipment free the prisoners.

The game relies heavily on AI and the interaction with different objects and how they manipulate the AI. We are a six man team with four programmers and two artists, with me as a programmer/scrum master. Me role for the project is to make sure we are always doing the best work we can and follows our schedule, these leaves me less work on programming and more work on documentation and the administrative part.

Which suits me fine since I would like to try a different role from just being a programmer, although I still do a lot of code. On my task list is the UI programming and general programming so the other programmers can focus solely on the AI since this is a new area for us and none of us has any experience with it.
