Tamarrion, post 5

BossWithArmorThis week I finished our boss’s lowpoly model, which will be the mesh actually visible in the game, and the group also spent some time in the motion capture studio on Wednesday to record movements for our characters.

BossArmorTurnaroundAs I showed in my previous post, I finished up the lowpoly for the boss’s body last week. This week I spent some time doing the same with the armor part of his model, and the final polycount for the boss’s model ended up at 10 702 tris.

BossArmorSmoothI’ve smoothed out the armor model in Max for a highpoly that will be baked onto the lowpoly for textures. I will spend a short amount of time on this model in Zbrush next week to add some wear and tear to the armor, but hopefully it won’t take up too much time.

Group4_2.mov_snapshot_07.50_[2015.05.01_19.57.10] On the Wednesday of this week, our group spent some time in the school’s mocap studio. We worked with two swordfighting actors to record movements for our main character as well as the boss. These animations included a little bit of everything we will be needing for our game, including idle animations, movements, attacks and hurt animations. I will be responsible for cleaning these mocap takes, and applying them to our game characters.
