3DIII – Linkle

modelI haven’t been required to make any blog posts for classes lately, but I thought I’d make a post for the character I modeled and animated for the 3DIII course, together with Anita Stenholm.

This character is based on a concept art made for a potential female version of the player character Link from The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors.

Original_ConceptWe chose the design above to adapt, and I drew a turnaround with an adjusted design, as well as an action pose picture to demonstrate the coloring style we were looking for.

turnaround actionAnita did the bulk of the modeling work for the character, while I did rigging and animating. We both worked together on the textures, Anita handling the skin on the diffuse, and me taking the rest, as well as all the Roughness and Normal maps.

model2Below are recordings of all the animations I created for the character, an idle, longer idle, attack, special attack, walk and run. Note that the sword placeholder we made isn’t perfectly positioned. I apologize for the quality, I’m not very good at making gifs.
