Filler
|
Most of my time so far this week has been spent making adjustments to the Mole Munch sonic mole scare that repells the player untill broken , but because of some new sugestions that came up during playtesting we did today I am currently making an additional change to it so therefore I don´t think I that is what I should show. Fortunately I´ve also been doing something else this week that I can show. With almost all of the graphics for the game finished I have just started to to work on some filler graphics to be displayed in the under ground state of the game to help the player navigate and to make it less boring to be underground and surrounded by nothing but dirt, rocks and the ocational power up. it is still undecided if the filler graphics will be placed in the foreground and be possible to dig away or if it´s going to placed in the background and because these have different brightness I will probably need to adjust the brightness of the objects when their place is decided. I started with making a big prehistoric mole skelleton that I thought was a bit funny, the bone, bird skelleting and sable before deciding I might be moving in a too gruesome direction for a otherwise child friendly game. So I stared trying to think of what else could be found under a garden, without needing to be too serious. Some of the obvious fun things to find when digging under ground would be gold, gems and treasure chests but that could get frustrating or confusing for the player as none of it can be picked up but will eather stay in the backgroung and be visible when dirt in front of it is digged away or simply disapear when the player diggs through it. I also can´t use rocks since there is already rocks under ground that can eather be picked up or is blocking the players path. I did some bottles, beer cans and a rune stone, all logical enough. When I´m done with the sonic scare I plan on doing an additional rune stone with all team members name on it, and after that probably just do lots of random junk like banana peels, plastic bags and maybe some nicer stuff like viking helmets and swords to create a large library of filler graphic to be distributed among the levels. |
