Green Warden – week two
|
I thought I’d just make a quick update with some concept art I’ve made so far! The bad guys in our game are goblins who wants to destroy the forest you’re defending. For a while I wanted it to be robots instead of goblins, mostly because I thought it would increase the feeling of them not belonging in the forest. (But also because wheels are easier to animate than legs…) After that I started drawing goblins instead. We currently have four different enemy types; melee, ranged, bombardier and juggernaut. They all look fairly similar, so in the next version I exaggerated their shapes a bit. I still wasn’t quite pleased with how they looked. They all look kind of round and squishy and besides their slanted eyes, not very evil. So then I made this version instead: I like these ones the best so far, especially the juggernaut. I will probably make the ranged enemy even slimmer and taller, and maybe the melee one a bit taller as well. This still isn’t the way they will look in game. We’re currently experimenting with patterns on the characters and plant units, so we’ll see how that turns out! |
